Hey! This is a reminder for everyone that

PRACTICE OFFICIALLY RESUMES ON 27TH APRIL, THIS COMING MONDAY.

There will be pt at 7.50am at the basketball court. Practice will start at 3.30pm at the choir room and end at 6pm. If you cannot make it, you will have to take leave from your SLs. You will be having sectionals on Monday to learn Jiang Jin Jiu. For year 2s to 3s who have gotten your scores, hope you guys have spent some time over the weekends to look through it. :)

For those who are having your interview on Monday, you will report to the interview venue (choir room) during your time slot and you should be in your sectionals at all other times.

Firstly, please make sure your name appears in this schedule. If it does not, please tell Jane by tuesday LATEST. Also, if you would like to swap timings with other people, please sms/msn/call Jane personally. DO NOT leave any tags on the tagboard if you want to swap a slot with someone else. It will be ignored. If you have confirmed your timeslot with me, I will highlight your name in blue :) ALL year 2s and 3s will be interviewed. You cannot excuse yourself from the interview. Interview venues will be different for each day, so please keep a lookout for last minute changes or something. Be at the interview venue 5 minutes before your interview starts, please don't be late and cause everything to be delayed. Thanks.

Also, the very first official practice for year 1s-3s is on 27 April, Monday. There will be pt, meet at 7.50 am in the morning. Practice will start at 3.30pm at the choir room and end at 6pm (unless you have interview). You will be learning 将进酒, a song you will sing for your concert in Aug :)

VOTING will also be on monday, 27 april @ choir room.

Tomorrow, the seniors wanna really have a captain ball with you juniors for like the last second time. IF IT IS OKAY, you all may meet at basketball court by 7.50am. IT IS NOT COMPULSORY, but i really hope you all can make it. YUP, its okay if you all don want!!

CIP 09 + Speech day 09!
Hey everybody :D

This post is meant for the year 2s, 3s and 4s.

1. Speech Day

The year 2s, 3s and 4s will be singing the school song for Speech Day. There is a speech day rehearsal on 24th April Friday, from 3.30pm to around 5.30pm.

3.30: warm ups
4.30: gather at PAC
5.30: end (if we end earlier, we can go home earlier :D LOL)

Speech Day is on 30th April. We have to report to school at 10.30am for warm ups. The time for our performance is not confirmed yet, so continue to check the blog for details!

2. CIP for year 3s and 4s TOMORROW.

Just in case you haven't realised, our CIP is tomorrow O_O! For those who are going, please make sure you got the new meeting point correct! Here are the details once more:

Meeting place:
Children At Risk Empowerment Association, Singapore (CARE SINGAPORE)
Block 428, Pasir Ris Drive 6, #01-21, Singapore 510428
Buses that go there include 12, 21, 53, 81, 359 and 518 (from Pasir Ris Bus interchange)

Reporting times are 7.45am for morning shift and 1.45pm for afternoon shift.

The LATESTTTT you can reach there is 8.15am/2.15pm, if you're later than that you will NOT have your cip hours.

Report to CARE Singapore at 12.30pm (morning shift) and 6.30pm (afternoon shift) for dismissal.

Try to bring as little stuff as possible, we'll be walking quite alot. :/

Each volunteer will have 20 post it pads. One post it pad will cost a customer $2.

ATTIRE: WHITE T SHIRT, JEANS AND YOUR SCHOOL SHOES (NO SANDALS/SLIPPERS PLEASE!)

1 MORE DAY!
HEY DHSCHOIR PEEPS :D

Syf is tomorrow, hope you guys are all excited and ready to go :) Remember to smile, relax and sing you heart out. Look at Miss Tham if you're scared, she has this magical aura around her to make you feel relaxed de :D We can do it and all those months of practices and efforts will depend on those 8 minutes on stage. So just do your best and have no regrets. It does not matter what result we get, but rather if we've given our all :D I have faith in you guys! Together as a family, we'll get through this obstacle together :D

See ya tomorrow. Remember to bring all your stuff (read post below) and here's the timeline:

12.15pm SHARP: report to choir room for PT
12.15-12.45: PT, but bring down your bathing things, something to change into after you bathe and your valuables (esp wallet)
12.45-2.15pm: bathe, eat lunch, change into concert attire, make up for girls
2.15pm SHARP: report to choir room and make sure you're changed by then.
2.15pm: start warm ups and run through
3.30pm: go to foyer and board the bus to VCH (those coming back to school can leave things in choir room). Year 1 girls to meet us at foyer at 3.30pm

After that we'll have a short rehearsal at VT and 5.15 we'll go up on stage to sing :)

Don't be nervous and just sing your best!

Please take note that there is a change in venue!!!

The new meeting place will be

YO CHOIR!!!

Its like 3 more practices to SYF. Excited?? Haha. I just wanna say that you guys are really a bunch of great people.. and im very thankful for knowing each and everyone of you, and being given the chance to SING WITH YOU.

The marathon we've been running together is coming to a conclusion soon, and up till now im VERY VERY UBER proud of the of you guys. All the effort we've put in is showing results! As long as we do our very best on that day, im sure we'll accept any result HAPPILY =)

I am back and this is just to tell you that even though SYF is so near!! you all shouldn be scared okay! Cause you all will have me and the year 4s, and we will always be there when all troubles arrives!! WE WILL KAPOW THEM TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE THAT WE GET GOOD RESULTS!!

Even though there is only 4 practices left, i hope that we can make each and every practise a productive one!! Yup yup, liddat then we can improve mah!! I hope you guys would appreciate the effort that Miss Low and the Splat team have put in! And I think if everybody has an optimistic attitude towards this cip, I think it will be quite a fun experience :D

Lastly, syf is in 11 days. Not much time left, so take care of your voices, rest well, remember to revise your scores and we can do this together as a team! Jiayou everybody :D

A DHS Choir member is responsible for the following:
1. DHS Code of Conduct
1.1 Basic respect and greeting

2. Choir Schedule
Choir practices are on Mondays: 330 – 630pm & Fridays: 230 – 530pm
Extra practices (E.g. Saturdays) will be conducted nearer SYF or Concert period.

3. Application for leave. Teacher i.c.: Mdm Low Siok Hong
3.1 Apply for leave (with supporting documents + leave form) or exemption at least 5 days before any choir activity . This applies to all prior appointments, official school activities and personal affairs. Leave forms can be retrieved from Sectional Leader.
3.2 Submit MC within 2 days after the day(s) of absence. Parent’s letter will only be considered case by case basis.
3.3 Apply for early departures on the day of choir activity should the need arise.
3.4 Inform respective section leaders when leave is approved.
3.5 Absence without prior approval or valid reasons will be dealt with the following way:
(a) 1st absence: Warning
(b) 2nd absence: Letter to parents
(c) 3rd absence: Disciplinary Action (and no CCA points)
3.6 PT takes a separate attendance to practice / rehearsal. Hence there are 2 attendance-marking every Friday. The same rule applies as the above should any member misses PT.

4.Dress code
4.1 Choir collar badges must be worn in school. Members caught not wearing the badge would have to purchase one at $2 each for the 1st time and $3 for subsequent times, regardless the reasons. The money will be contributed to the general choir funds.
4.2 Only school approved T- shirts and school shorts/pants/skirts are allowed during practices / PT within the premises throughout the year. Only school shoes are allowed.

5.Punctuality
5.1 All members MUST report on time for ALL choir activities unless approval has been seek from the teachers in charge.
5.2 If one has a reason (e.g. see a teacher urgently), the arrival time should not be more than 10 minutes late and the teacher-in-charge has to be informed. One will be considered late after 10 mins.
5.3 Latecomers will be dealt with the following way:
(a) 1st late-coming: Fill up late form + warning
(b) 2nd late-coming: Fill up late form+ 1 day absence
(c) 3rd late-coming: Fill up late form + maximum 75% attendance, inclusive of other leaves.

6. During choir activities
6.1 No eating, drinking, reading, talking, or playing during any choir activity.
6.2 ALL members are to silence their handphones before every practice / rehearsals. Anyone caught using handphones during any choir activity will face disciplinary action + confiscation of handphone for up to 10 weeks.
6.3 ALL members should prepare the following for every practice / rehearsal:
(a) Pencil
(b) Water bottle (with plain water)
(c) Scores: Members with no score MUST buy and pay the Welfare Head at $1 per score before practice / rehearsal. Maximum fine: $5 per day.
6.4 Clean and tidy up all utilized premises after every activity.
