its good to know that everyone of you put in effort for the esplanade concert,

i know this sounds super uber duper naggy but it's super impt too :D
so please please please remember to bring ALL your stuffs tmr, and it is also your last chance tmr to change your blazer/skirt if they don't fit (don't be like some bobo, who didn't even realise he does not have a blazer o.o)

*btw, i know this is a little late, but for guys, make sure that you black pants are not Bluish-black and are not jeans (:

Hi all, Sorry that i could not make it tomorrow for Leong pin pin (is that his name?) concert. Very sorry cuase i got MEP mah, then my results also dying mah!! So don mind okay! you will not hear my weird screams and laughters there but i assure you, not having an ex-SC there is a good thing! Cause no one hear your music good or bad one mah!!

Anyway, tomorrow on stage, remember to smile until the audience run aways from your gleaming teeths! SMILE!! okay! and brush it! If noy JANE WILL BE WANTING TO LICK YOUR VEGETABLE SCRAPS as you remember, she is the FAIRY of DUST!!

YUP YUP!! Seriously. enjoy yourselves at esplanade! Sing loudly hor! Make the durian spikes drop and make the audiences go WOW!! YAY YAY!!

please be reminded that theres PT on monday, meet 7.50am at bball court as usual.
also bear in mind that late-comers will have to run one more round, and be marked late of course.
practice will start at 3.30pm(do not be late, you know the punishment-solo), and ms tham is comin.

monday is our rehearsal at esplanade,
hope all of you are ready:)

We will depart for esplanade at 5.15pm.
As you will only be able to go off at about 7pm,
please make sure you eat enough during lunch to last you till then.

so tmr for those meetin at harbour front mrt please meet by 7.45am. we will leave sharply so DONT BE LATE.
for those goin to RV on ur own, please make sure u reach LT4 in RV by 8.30am, if you are late, u will perform a solo for us in front of the 2 choirs.

remember to do some warm-ups at home b4 u leave, maybe some lip trills etc.

also, please be in your proper uniform!

this is what ms lin has briefed us today,
and what i have caught :D

Sat @ RV
-meet at RV at 8.30am sharp (dont be late) , and start warm ups
-make your way there ON YOUR OWN.
~You can take bus from queensway mrt 51
~commonwealth mrt 100
~jurong east 97
~clementi 166
~harbourfront interchange only 963
~vivo 57, 61, 97, 100, 166
-b4 you leave your hse, you can actually do your own warm ups. eg: brush your teeth, on bus/car/mrt/etc
-practice starts at 9am sharp.

Next monday (rehearsal at esplanade)
-Ms tham will come at 3.30pm. Yr 5s as well (leave form will be issued by ms lin)
-5.15pm we will depart for esplanade for rehearsal
-dress code: uniform
-dismissal at 7pm (approximately)
-you can eat more during lunch if u cant withstand hunger.

Concert day
-meet at choir room at 1.45pm
-go for lunch
-back at choir room at 2.30pm : change and make-up. make-up would be light, and something pink/purple to match the costume
-3.15pm start warm ups.
-4.30pm depart for esplanade
[please DO NOT bring alot of stuff to esplanade as the space there is limited. you can leave your belongings in choir room but you have to claim it back by the next day]
-6-7pm dinner + touch up
-7-7.30pm warm up
-7.58pm performing (order of performance: we are behind TKGS and SNGS)
-8.30pm vacate backstage
-9.30pm HOME SWEET HOME

Ok the info may be very luan4 and everything, but i will try to remind you again. just bear in mind some important stuff that have been highlighted..

All of you will be let off on 25/08 (our concert day) at 1.45pm.
The 3rd lang people are excused from ur 3rd lang. (MEP ppl oso)

Also, on 22/08, saturday. Yr 1s would be excused from your parent child day and proceed to RV.

Another important thing is the concert attire (same as SYF attire):

For girls: Black giordano Tee (V-neck), purple skirt, black court shoes (RUBBERIZED), stockings,black hair accessories, make-ups (foundataion, blusher, eyeshadow, lipstick).

For guys: White long sleeve shirt, red tie, black pants, black shoes, black socks, BLAZERS.

Please take note of above and purchase/ get whatever you need asap! (concert is really near!)

Last but not least, i would like to commend on the performance of choir today!
You guys really did a good job today and made dhschoir proud!:D
See, this is the team effort and we did it!!

I hope that choir can continue to achieve this kind of FOCUSNESS we had today, and everyone did witness its results! we did it in such a short period of time. dont you think that it is amzazing?

please take note of the latest update:
On friday, we would be reporting at 7am in school foyer in full costumes.
You can also choose to wear red tee+skirt/pants/shorts to come to school 1st and change into your costumes, but if u wish to do so, please reach school by 6.50am to have enough time to change.
We will not join the school ceremony and will depart DHS immediately, so please dont be late.

note no. 2:
as what tricia had mentioned earlier in the day, please try to carry as little stuff on friday as possible, so as to save time and space. also dont bring camera thanks.
here is a small checklist to help you:
-your costumes (including everything like accessories, socks, etc)
-water bottle
-wallet
-fone

note no. 3:
the details for wed practice are as follows:
3.15pm-4.15pm at choir room.
this practice is compulsory and attendence will be taken.
any valid reason for absence must be informed to SLs thanks!
if you end school later, plz join us later.

A DHS Choir member is responsible for the following:
1. DHS Code of Conduct
1.1 Basic respect and greeting

2. Choir Schedule
Choir practices are on Mondays: 330 – 630pm & Fridays: 230 – 530pm
Extra practices (E.g. Saturdays) will be conducted nearer SYF or Concert period.

3. Application for leave. Teacher i.c.: Mdm Low Siok Hong
3.1 Apply for leave (with supporting documents + leave form) or exemption at least 5 days before any choir activity . This applies to all prior appointments, official school activities and personal affairs. Leave forms can be retrieved from Sectional Leader.
3.2 Submit MC within 2 days after the day(s) of absence. Parent’s letter will only be considered case by case basis.
3.3 Apply for early departures on the day of choir activity should the need arise.
3.4 Inform respective section leaders when leave is approved.
3.5 Absence without prior approval or valid reasons will be dealt with the following way:
(a) 1st absence: Warning
(b) 2nd absence: Letter to parents
(c) 3rd absence: Disciplinary Action (and no CCA points)
3.6 PT takes a separate attendance to practice / rehearsal. Hence there are 2 attendance-marking every Friday. The same rule applies as the above should any member misses PT.

4.Dress code
4.1 Choir collar badges must be worn in school. Members caught not wearing the badge would have to purchase one at $2 each for the 1st time and $3 for subsequent times, regardless the reasons. The money will be contributed to the general choir funds.
4.2 Only school approved T- shirts and school shorts/pants/skirts are allowed during practices / PT within the premises throughout the year. Only school shoes are allowed.

5.Punctuality
5.1 All members MUST report on time for ALL choir activities unless approval has been seek from the teachers in charge.
5.2 If one has a reason (e.g. see a teacher urgently), the arrival time should not be more than 10 minutes late and the teacher-in-charge has to be informed. One will be considered late after 10 mins.
5.3 Latecomers will be dealt with the following way:
(a) 1st late-coming: Fill up late form + warning
(b) 2nd late-coming: Fill up late form+ 1 day absence
(c) 3rd late-coming: Fill up late form + maximum 75% attendance, inclusive of other leaves.

6. During choir activities
6.1 No eating, drinking, reading, talking, or playing during any choir activity.
6.2 ALL members are to silence their handphones before every practice / rehearsals. Anyone caught using handphones during any choir activity will face disciplinary action + confiscation of handphone for up to 10 weeks.
6.3 ALL members should prepare the following for every practice / rehearsal:
(a) Pencil
(b) Water bottle (with plain water)
(c) Scores: Members with no score MUST buy and pay the Welfare Head at $1 per score before practice / rehearsal. Maximum fine: $5 per day.
6.4 Clean and tidy up all utilized premises after every activity.
